Terms of Service
The rules for using OrbitLink. Plain language for an indie product.
Last updated: August 6, 2026
Agreement
By creating an account or using OrbitLink, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The service
OrbitLink is a profile page builder operated as an indie product. It lets you claim a username, edit a professional profile, optionally feature public GitHub projects, and publish a page at an OrbitLink URL. Features may change as the product evolves.
Accounts
You sign in with GitHub via Clerk. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your GitHub account secure. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to use the service under applicable law (and at least 13 years old).
Your content
You own the content you put on your profile (text, links, and choices about which public GitHub projects to show). You grant OrbitLink a limited license to host, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the service, especially when your profile is published.
GitHub project metadata and previews remain subject to GitHub’s terms and your rights in those repositories. We only sync public repositories you select.
Acceptable use
Do not use OrbitLink to harass, impersonate others, spam, phish, or distribute malware. Do not scrape or bulk-harvest profiles in a way that harms the service or other users. Do not attempt to claim reserved usernames, circumvent security, or disrupt OrbitLink infrastructure.
Public profiles must not mislead others about your identity or affiliation in a harmful way. We may unpublish or delete profiles that violate these rules.
Abuse and reports
To report abuse or a profile that violates these Terms, email ping@orbitlink.bio with the profile URL and a short description. We may remove or unpublish content at our discretion.
Intellectual property
OrbitLink’s name, branding, and product software (excluding your content) are owned by the OrbitLink operator. These Terms do not give you rights to copy or resell the product itself.
Disclaimer
OrbitLink is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect sync with GitHub, or that the service will meet every expectation.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the OrbitLink operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to OrbitLink is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (currently zero for the free MVP) or (b) USD $50.
Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.
